Praba is a neuroscientist who gets to develop his ideas and inventions everyday. He is also the Founder and CEO of BOON-dah, an educational company whose mission is to grow and nurture a child's creativity and curiosity through the integration of imagination and science.
Growing up in India, Praba was a reluctant reader during his childhood and much of his earlier part of adulthood. After moving to North America to pursue an education in Neuroscience, he discovered his reason for being a reluctant reader. Praba was a visual learner. He started reading short stories, science, and engineering books that were pictorial. He then began to write stories for children with the hope of inspiring young reluctant readers.
Praba created Pumpus the Pumpkin and his pals to teach STEM through storytelling using characters relatable to children. If there was one thing Praba wished, it would be a time machine to travel back and give his younger self the Pumpus adventure books. Then, he could have enjoyed reading as a child and gotten inspired! Until he figures that out, he’ll just continue to inspire kids by writing Pumpus adventure books.
Jack loves drawing funny pictures that tell a good story. He has illustrated for children’s books, magazines, newspapers, and just for fun. When he’s not hard at work in the studio or watching Bill Murray movies, you can find him in the backyard with a very energetic and needy dog named Gus.
I am a children’s book illustrator and designer who has worked on everything from children’s stories to user interface designs for patient monitors. More importantly, I am the mom to 2 little boys. I have spent years teaching my children to take their problems apart and rebuild them until they find a solution, to go outside and get dirty, and to use their brains and their bodies to make the world a better place for everybody.
I want kids to see that there is more to their world; and that they can build great things and be great things when imagination meets know-how.
I live in southern New Hampshire with my husband, 2 sons, 2 dogs, and a small army of chickens. We all enjoy being outside, taking things apart, and making a proper mess. Generally, in that order.
